Phi Ta Khon (Ghost festival) is a three-day event that takes place in Dansai in Thailand’s northern province Loei. Essentially, it’s a series of fertility rituals to invoke enough rain during the upcoming rainy season and ensure plentiful harvest. The highlight of the festival is a colorful street procession where revellers dressed up as ghosts and other magical creatures cheerfully make their way to the Pon Chai temple.
